Move it around, watch us setup DevHouse!
Page will not be the same after devhouse starts.
Purpose:
- prevent people from "fighting" over the pan-tilt camera
- allow people to see webcam images from the internet without taking a hit on bandwidth at the event (single low bandwidth stream of uploading images)
**I've got some colo'd machines we could use to offload some images or video. --jonathan lassoff
- create cool time-lapse video of the event
****Pan-Tilt Project: ideas...
- Pan camera to pre-defined locations and snap a picture
- Cycle through pre-defined locations taking pictures at each one
- String photos from each fixed location together to show low frame rate video
- View one of several streams as if it were a fixed camera
- String locations together to make an out-of-sync video panorama
- Push panorama to colo server for off site hosting (save bandwidth @ devhouse)
- colo server creates string of panoramas and breaks panorama into individual images for single location viewing.
- wiki links directly to colo hosted webcam stream for high volume live viewing of devhouse camera(s)
- Come up with creative ways to view 8 spherical snapshots from one camera
Hardware: Panasonic KX-HCM270
- 60 degrees pan left and right
- 60 degrees down
- 3 degrees up
- 8 pre-defined target image locations (selectable via url request)
- mjpeg viewable from camera itself. (ideas for offsite hosting of mjpeg?)
Hardware: Intel Pro Video PC Camera (CS431)
- Can be used to point at a stationary object (i.e. entrance to house)
