Role: To take the lead of an existing software development team in South Africa for six months with potential for full-time position

Your Experience: Been a Sr Technical Architect who has learned how to develop enterprise-level applications and have a particular interest in SMTP and social networks.

The Problem: need to revamp and extend an existing set of code to bring it to a standard that can be scalable, resiliant, and extendable for new features.  Have an existing team of 1.5 developers working on existing codebase which can offer a strong leader a chance to seriously make a difference.

Environment: FreeBSD 6.2, Eclipse w/ IceCoffee, C/C++, OpenLDAP and postgres database, Exim SMTP server (will migrate)

Customer Interface (front-end) is being developed externally and will connect to database

You should have strong coding skills, management and teaching skills to help grow and improve the team

Product Development will potentially migrate to London or the US from CapeTown in twelve months

Salary/Payment: commensurate with experience (in UK Pounds if need be)

Logistics: You will work in CapeTown pretty regularly for the first three months, with the potential to work remotely for the remaining time from your home.  We will discuss potential for bringing the product back to the States or to London for ongoing development.
